Day 1. Depart Australia - Arrive Managua

Bienvenido a Nicaragua! We arrive in the capital, Managua, also the cultural, commercial and political centre. Located on the shores of Lake Managua, the sprawling city is home to vibrant street art, neoclassical monuments and busy markets.

Day 2. Managua - Le n

This morning we depart for the stunning colonial city of Le n, one of Nicaragua's most culturally rich communities. The afternoon is at leisure for you to relax or begin exploring. Why not visit some of the many art galleries or several ancient churches? Tonight we'll enjoy a group welcome dinner. [B,D]

Day 3. Le n

Today we explore Le n's city centre on a walking tour, including the largest church in Central America, Catedral de la Asunci n, where we'll visit the rooftop for panoramic views over the town and nearby volcans.

Special Experience: Hear the incredible stories behind the city's many revolutionary street murals from a Sandinista guerrillero at the Museum of the Revolution.
Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. [B]

Day 4. Le n - Ometepe Island

Special Experience: Peer into the steaming crater of one of Nicaragua's most active volcans on a visit to Volc n Masaya National Park.

We'll then catch the ferry to beautiful Ometepe Island, in the middle of Lake Nicaragua, characterised by its two towering volcans. [B]

Day 5. Ometepe Island

We'll spend the day discovering the island's best scenery, including the Devil's Viewpoint, Charco Verde Reserve, Punta Jesus Maria and Ojo de Agua, stopping for lunch at a local restaurant. [B,L]

Day 6. Ometepe Island - Granada

This morning we return to the mainland by ferry and travel to Granada, a photogenic Spanish colonial town, characterised by colourful buildings and streets. [B]

Day 7. Granada

After breakfast, we depart for the Mombacho Volcano cloud forest, a misty oasis brimming with beautiful flora and fauna. This afternoon we cruise through Granada's Isletas, a group of islands formed by an ancient volcanic explosion. Tonight we'll enjoy a group dinner at a local restaurant to farewell Nicaragua. [B,D]

Day 8. Granada - Managua - Guatemala City

Enjoy the morning at leisure before our flight to Guatemala later this afternoon. [B]

Day 9. Guatemala City - Flores

We'll discover the city on a sightseeing tour this morning and visit the Ixchel and Popolvuh Museum, before a group lunch at a local restaurant. This afternoon we fly to Flores, a charming island town situated on Lake Peten Itza. [B,L]

Day 10. Tikal National Park Excursion

Special Experience: Visit the great Mayan ruins of Tikal, nestled amidst lush rainforest. The largest of Mayan cities during the Classic period 1,000 years ago, it represents one of the most impressive achievements of the Mayan civilisation. [B,L]

Day 11. Flores - Guatemala City - Panajachel

Today we fly back to Guatemala City and make our way to the scenic lakeside town of Panajachel, stopping along the way at the archaeological site of Iximch . [B]

Day 12. Panajachel

This morning we board a boat on stunning Lake Atitl n to visit the villages of Santiago Atitl n and San Juan la Laguna. [B]

Special Experience: Travel by tuk tuk to the home of the Mayan god, Maximon, and witness a traditional ceremony.

Day 13. Panajachel - Chichicastenango - Antigua

Special Experience: An early start to visit the incredible, colourful market of Chichicastenango - the best in Central America. [B]

Day 14. Antigua

Today is at leisure to relax or explore. Tonight we'll enjoy a group dinner and folkloric show to farewell Guatemala. [B,D]

Day 16. Antigua - Guatemala City - Panama City - Havana

Special Experience: Step back in time to the 60s and discover the history and charm of Old Havana on a walking tour this morning.

This afternoon we'll witness the contrasts of 'New' Havana, including the artistic areas of Hamel Island, Fusterland and the Fort of Havana. [B,D]

Day 18. Havana - Vi ales

Special Experience: Marvel at the incredible valley dotted with limestone hills, known as mogotes, as we travel through the beautiful region of Vi ales to Pinar del Rio.

We'll stop to visit a tobacco field and drying house and have lunch with a local family at a traditional Cuban paladar and then continue to Los Jazmines lookout point, for views over the small village of Vi ales. [B,L]

Day 19. Vi ales - Cienfuegos

Today we travel to the busy, colonial-era port of Cienfuegos, the 'Pearl of the South'. Along the way we'll stop at the infamous Bay of Pigs, where the failed US Military invasion of 1961 was undertaken. [B]

Day 20. Cienfuegos

This morning we'll discover beautiful Cienfuegos on a walking tour, visiting the impressive Teatro Tom s Terry and the historic town centre. In the afternoon we'll cruise to the end of the bay to visit Jagua Castle and wander through the village. [B]

Day 21. Cienfuegos - Trinidad

On the way to Trinidad we'll stop to discover El Nicho National Park, home to Cuba's most spectacular waterfalls. Tonight we'll enjoy an evening of music and dancing, Cuban-style, at Casa de la Trova. [B]

Day 22. Trinidad

Special Experience: Wander the cobblestone streets of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed city of Trinidad and discover its colonial past.

This perfectly preserved settlement is one of Cuba's most enchanting cities. Our sightseeing includes Museo Romantico and the famous Canchanchara Bar. [B]

Day 23. Trinidad - Havana

We return to Havana, visiting the Che Guevara Mausoleum in Santa Clara along the way. [B]

Day 24. Havana

A day at leisure to enjoy charming Havana, before dinner at a local paladar. [B,D]
