With its ancient city walls, narrow cobblestone streets and colourful shops, being in Dubrovnik is like stepping back in time.Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of Plitvice LakesFrom Dubrovnik we head to Split and the spectacular Plitvice Lakes National Park. The park comprises 16 terraced lakes and is surrounded by densely-wooded hills. Here we take some time to enjoy the park and wander around the lower lakes the scenery is breathtaking.Be spellbound by Slovenia and fall in love with VeniceContinuing through Europe, we travel to Slovenia. We spend time at picturesque Lake Bled and in the charming town of Ljubljana. With its fairytale streets and colourful open-air markets, Ljubljana is a real jewel of Europe. The last stop on our fantastic tour is the romantic city of Venice. Here there is time to relax and explore as we visit the famous Basilica of San Marco, the Bridge of Sighs and Doge's Palace.

Day 1. Depart Australia
Day 2. Arrive Zagreb

Welcome to Croatia and its beautiful capital, Zagreb! Meet your fellow travellers and Tour Director this evening for a welcome drink.

Day 3. Zagreb

We take a morning sightseeing tour of the city and its impressive 900-year-old Upper Town. We see the churches of St Mark's and St Catherine's and visit the Cathedral, the tallest building in Croatia. The afternoon is at leisure to explore the cobblestone streets at your own pace and admire its old-world graciousness and friendly, lively energy before tonight's group welcome dinner. [B,D]

Day 4. Zagreb - Sarajevo

Today we cross the border into Bosnia & Herzegovina and make our way to the historic capital, Sarajevo. A vibrant city full of history and a Turkish heritage, it is often called the 'Jerusalem of Europe'. [B]

Day 5. Sarajevo

We'll explore Sarajevo on a sightseeing tour this morning. Highlights include the buzzing Turkish bazaar, 'Bas Carsija', the Husref Bay's Mosque and the Gavrilo Princip Museum. [B]

Special Experience: Discover the culinary delights of Sarajevo on a gourmet walking tour. Enjoy a degustation of Bosnian cheeses and smoked meats, as well as a traditional cooked meal at a local restaurant. Relax in a typical tavern and try two types of homemade rakija.

Day 6. Sarajevo - Dubrovnik

We venture south to Mostar, where its famous Ottoman bridge, bustling gold alley and numerous mill house restaurants lining the banks of the river set an enchanting scene. Later this afternoon we continue to beautiful Dubrovnik, set against a backdrop of the shimmering Adriatic Ocean. [B]

Day 7. Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik is one of the most photographed towns in the Mediterranean. This morning we enjoy a walking tour of this historic walled city. Sights will include the Bell Tower Clock, Orlando's Column, Rector's Palace and the Franciscan Monastery. The afternoon is free for you to explore at your own pace. [B,D]

Special Experience: Enjoy the warm hospitality of the locals and taste the regional cuisine at a special home-hosted dinner.

Day 8. Kotor Excursion

We spend the day touring the tiny country of Montenegro. Admire the beauty of the Dalmatian coast as we drive along the rugged Bay of Kotor, dotted with charming little villages. [B]

Day 9. Dubrovnik - Split

We head north along the spectacular coast to Split. Enjoy the incredible scenery as we pass sheer cliff faces and bright turquoise waters. In Split, we tour the historic city centre, built around the remains of the world's most impressive Roman monument - the Diocletian's Palace. [B]

Day 10. Split

Special Experience: Spend the day discovering the sun-drenched islands of Brac and Solta on a cruise of the glittering Adriatic sea. We'll enjoy swimming in one of the beautiful bays, some free time in the town of Stomorska, and a delicious grilled lunch on-board. [B,L]

Day 11. Split - Trogir - Plitvice Lakes

Today we stop in the town of Trogir, where artists from around the world gather to paint. This afternoon we travel to stunning Plitvice Lakes National Park. These 16 terraced lakes are renowned for their distinctive colours, ranging from azure to green, grey and blue. [B,D]

Special Experience: Stay overnight right inside the national park, and only 400m from the highest waterfall.

Day 12. Plitvice Lakes

This morning we explore the spectacular lower lake section on a guided walking tour that will showcase its magnificent turquoise lakes, waterfalls and cascades.

Day 13. Plitvice Lakes - Opatija

We travel to the imperial resort town of Opatija. Famous for its grand spa hotels and superb location on the beautiful bay of Kvarner, it is often referred to as the 'Pearl of the Adriatic'. We'll take an orientation tour on arrival to learn about its splendid past. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. [B]

Day 14. Istrian Peninsula Excursion

Enjoy a full-day excursion along the beautiful, heart-shaped Istrian Peninsula. Visit Eufrasius Basilica at Porec, the Roman Amphitheatre in Pula and the charming fishing port of Rovinj. [B]

Day 15. Opatija - Postojna - Bled

Today we visit the incredible Postojna Caves, with more than 20km of passages, galleries and chambers filled with two million-year-old stalagmite and stalactite formations. This afternoon we continue north to fairytale Lake Bled. [B]

Day 16. Bled

The region around Bled is one of the most beautiful in Europe. Set amongst stunning mountain peaks and brimming with forests and greenery, waterfalls and streams, it is characterised by the iconic church steeple that perches atop a tiny island in the middle of the lake. Here we enjoy a wonderful sightseeing tour including a visit to Bled Castle, before we visit the lake valley of Bohinj. [B]

Special Experience: Visit the Alpine Dairy Farming Museum, learn about life of herdsmen in an authentic environment and taste the locally produced cheeses.

Day 17. Bled - Ljubljana - Venice

Enjoy the morning at leisure before we depart for the picturesque Slovenian capital, Ljubljana. This beautiful city features a hilltop castle, emerald green river and a buzzing al fresco cafe culture.

Special Experience: See Ljubljana from a different angle on a boat ride along the Ljubljanica River.

This evening we make our way to the ever-romantic city of Venice. [B]

Day 18. Venice

A place like no other, a day exploring Venice will leave lasting memories. Today's highlights include Piazza San Marco and the Basilica, the Doge's Palace and the Bridge of Sighs. We'll also witness magic in the hands of a master craftsman at a traditional glass blowing factory, watching as they create a work of art before our eyes. Tonight we'll enjoy a group farewell dinner.
