A place like no other, a day exploring Venice will leave lasting memories. Today's highlights include Piazza San Marco and the Basilica, the Doge's Palace, the Bridge of Sighs and a visit to
a traditional glass-blowing factory. Tonight we'll enjoy a group welcome dinner. [B,D]
Today we travel west through the northern Italian countryside to Milan, via the fair city of Verona, made famous by Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. We'll also stop at a famous wine cellar in Franciacorta for a tasting.[B]
Discover the glamourous city of Milan today on a sightseeing tour. We'll admire the intricate Duomo, Sforzesco Castle and visit the Vittorio Emanuele Gallery. The afternoon is free for you to explore at leisure. [B]
Today's excursion takes us to the idyllic Italian Lake District at stunning Lake Como. We'll take a scenic cruise to admire the palatial villas and hotels and enjoy some free time in beautiful Bellagio. [B]
This morning we depart for Turin. On a city tour we'll see the Basilica of Superga, the Royal Palace and the Renaissance Duomo. This afternoon we'll continue to the Langhe region. [B,D]
Italy's hilly region of Langhe is renowned for its wines, cheeses and truffles. This morning we'll tour Cherasco and visit the majestic castle of Serralunga d'Alba.
Special Experience: We'll enjoy lunch in a local restaurant before venturing into the woods in search of the region's famous 'white truffle'.
Later this afternoon we'll visit a local farm to taste some of its produce and wine. [B,L]
This morning we depart for the food-lover's paradise of Bologna, stopping in Emilia Romagno to taste cheese and Modena region to try the famous balsamic vinegar and prosciutto. [B]
Today we tour the city of Bologna, characterised by its red-brick palazzi, towers and lengthy porticos. This afternoon we'll make the short trip out to Maranello to visit the Ferrari Museum. [B]
Today we depart for La Spezia, stopping to visit Forte dei Marmi and taste the Lardo di Colonnata. [B]
Special Experience: We spend a full day exploring some of Italy's most photographed coastline, discovering some of the five colourful villages that make up the Cinque Terre. Clinging to steep terraces, the villages and ancient vineyards are linked by paths, trains and boats and cannot be accessed by car, making this a truly unique area. [B,L]
We travel to Pisa, home of the famous Leaning Tower. Here we'll also see the Baptistery and Duomo of St John. This afternoon we continue through the beautiful Tuscan countryside to Florence, birthplace of the Renaissance. [B]
Our tour this morning commences at the grand Piazza del Duomo, where we see the Cathedral, Giotto's Bell Tower, and the Baptistery. We'll also admire Michelangelo's sculptural masterpiece, the statue of David, at the famous Galleria dell'Accademia. [B]
Today we venture out to explore the rolling hills of Tuscany. We'll visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed towns of Siena, San Gimignano and Monteriggioni. [B]
Sit back and enjoy the countryside as we travel to the Eternal City of Rome, via the beautiful Umbria Valley, the town of Assisi and the city of Orvieto. [B]
Discover majestic Vatican City this morning (fast-track entry). We'll visit the amazing Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica - all containing works of art and sculptures by Michelangelo. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to explore the city at your own pace. [B]
This morning we explore Imperial Rome. Highlights include the Roman Forum, Piazza Venezia, the Capitol and the Colosseum (fast-track entry), where gladiatorial contests and games were held along with mock sea battles and executions. [B]
We travel to the stunning Bay of Naples and the town of Sorrento via the ancient city of Pompeii (fast-track entry). Buried under ash for centuries after the eruption of Mt Vesuvius in 79AD, it is one of the best-preserved examples of Roman civilisation. [B]
Special Experience: This evening we'll make our way to the historic Teatro Tasso for a performance of the 'Sorrento Musical'.
After breakfast, we take the jetfoil to the island of Capri. Beguiling Capri is known for its rugged landscape, caf culture and brilliant bougainvillea. We'll tour the hilltop town of Anacapri and have some time at leisure before returning to Sorrento in the late afternoon. [B]
Special Experience: We'll travel along the famous Amalfi Coast, through the stunning towns of Positano, Praiano and Amalfi, making several photo stops along the way!
