Discover the city's two most famous landmarks Corcovado and Sugar Loaf Mountain, there is also ample free time to enjoy Rio's nightlife, restaurants, beaches and much more in this cosmopolitan masterpiece. From Rio we fly to Campo Grande and transfer to the Pantanal, a vast wetland area inhabited by thousands of species of exotic plants and animals. This is regarded as one of the best wildlife viewing experiences in South America and home to large mammals including jaguars, pumas, ocelots and tapirs. Day 1
Arrival at Rio and transfer to the hotel. Rio de Janeiro is the cultural capital of Brazil. Over its nearly 500 years of history, it has been the spring board for all the country’s principal cultural exports, and the port of entry for major international art exhibitions or musical events bringing top names from the classical to the contemporary. Rio’s architecture embraces churches and buildings dating from the 16th to the 19th centuries, blending with the world renowned designs of the 20th. In the South Zone, along the sea front, the city preserves the memory of names such as Tom Jobim and João Gilberto, who wrote the first chords of the Bossa Nova. Overnight: Rio de Janeiro hotel
Day 2
Breakfast and depart to visit the Sugar Loaf Mountain. It was, at the feet of Urca Hill, that the city of Rio de Janeiro was founded in 1565 by Estácio de Sá. The visit is done in two steps, by modern cable-car. The first ride of the cable-car links Praia Vermelha to Urca Hill, located at 215 meters of altitude, a point from which can be seen all the Guanabara Bay and its islands, the Flamengo landfilling, the Corcovado and the Rio-Niterói bridge, besides the majestic mountains that protect and embellish the city. In the belvedere exist a fast Food area, an anphiteatrum and a Heli-pad. The second ride, that we will made on cable car, takes to the top of Sugar Loaf mountain, at 395 meters of altitude, from where can be seen, in a unique perspective, the beach of Copacabana, the Santa Cruz Fortress, some beaches of Niterói in a fantastic scenery. Lunch time (not included). Then depart to visit the Christ the Redeemer statue on Corcovado Mountain by Tijuca Forest. See the most famous of all images of Rio, the statue of Christ the Redeemer. Day 3
After breakfast, free day to relax at the "wonderful city" (how Rio is called) or optional activities. Overnight: Rio de Janeiro hotel
Day 4
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Campo Grande. On arrival journey by road to Fazenda San Francisco located in the heart of the Southern Pantanal (245 km - 3.5 hours). This rural oasis and eco-tourism jewel is an authentic, family-run pousada with endless hours of wildlife viewing and adventure as well as the opportunity to take part in ranch life. The Pantanal represents one of the world's largest wetland complexes and one of the best examples of flooded savannas in southern South America, comprising of a mosaic of flooded grasslands and savannas, gallery forests, and dry forests. Day 7
After breakfast, check-out and journey by road to Bonito (4hours approximately). The remainder of the day is free to relax or explore. Overnight Bonito hotel
Day 8
After breakfast we visit Buraco das Araras (The Macaw's Hole) one of the world’s largest sinkholes where thousands of Macaws can be seen nesting along its sides and flying across its chasm. Depart to Rio da Prata Ecological Refuge to enjoy trail hiking in the impressive primary forest and snorkelling down Olho D’Água river’s transparent blue waters. Overnight Bonito hotel
