Day 3. Lima - Cusco

Today we fly to Cusco, the former Incan capital. After lunch our walking tour begins with the Plaza de Armas and the 17th century Cathedral of Santo Domingo. We’ll also explore Koricancha (Temple of the Sun), considered the most spectacular temple of the Incan empire. [B,L]

Day 4. Cusco - Sacred Valley

This morning we visit the fascinating fortress of Sacsayhuaman, before we travel into the incredible Sacred Valley, stopping to visit the impressive ruins and lively market of Pisac. [B]

Day 5. Sacred Valley

We explore the archaeological ruins of Ollantaytambo, an ancient Incan fortress, before a stop at a chicheria to enjoy a traditional chicha and taste some guinea pig - the local delicacy! This afternoon we’ll visit the salt ponds at Maras and the elliptical terraces of Moray. [B]

Day 6. Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu

Special Experience: A magical day as we travel by Vistadome train to the legendary Lost City of the Incas - Machu Picchu! [B,D]


Day 7. Machu Picchu - Cusco

Why not return to Machu Picchu for an optional second visit this morning before the crowds appear? This afternoon we’ll return to Cusco, stopping in Chinchero for a traditional weaving demonstration. [B]

Day 9. Cusco - Lake Titicaca

Today we travel through the majestic High Andes Mountains to Puno, on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Here we’ll visit the incredible floating Uros Islands, made entirely out of reeds from the lake. [B]

Day 10. Lake Titicaca - La Paz

This morning we visit the colonial churches of Copacabana on the Bolivian side of the lake.

Special Experience: Cruise across the highest freshwater lake in the world by hydrofoil, visiting Moon Island and enjoying lunch at an archaeological restaurant on Sun Island.

This afternoon we travel to La Paz, Bolivia’s scenic capital, surrounded by mountains. [B,L]

We discover the city on a sightseeing tour, including a visit to the San Francisco Colonial Church, Plaza Murillo, a typical Indian street market and the famous Witches’ Markets. We’ll also see the natural wonder of Moon Valley, with its incredible lunar-like landscape. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure. [B]

Special Experience: Straddling the border of Argentina and Brazil, Iguazu Falls is one of the world’s largest and most spectacular waterfalls. Standing on a platform suspended over the thunderous Devil’s Throat, we’ll sense the incredible power of the falls.

This afternoon we’ll return to Brazil and walk the canyon path. [B]

Day 14. Iguazu Falls - Rio de Janeiro

Get up close and personal with stunning, colourful birds this morning at the Parque Das Aves. Set deep in the rainforest, it is home to more than 160 species of tropical birds, including toucans and macaws. This afternoon we fly to Rio de Janeiro. [B]

Today we visit the icons of Rio, including Corcovado Hill, the Statue of Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain. [B]
