Day 1. Depart Australia - Arrive Lima

Bienvenido a Peru and its capital city, Lima!

Day 2. Lima

Our sightseeing in Lima includes the Lima Cathedral, Convento de San Francisco and the famous Larco Museum, containing priceless Incan artefacts. Tonight we'll enjoy a group welcome dinner. [B,D]

Day 3. Lima - Amazon Jungle

Adventure awaits! We fly to the Amazon Jungle. After a short cruise along the river we'll reach our jungle lodge in time for lunch. [B,L,D]

Special Experience: The Amazon Jungle is an incredibly diverse ecosystem. We cruise along rivers, can across lakes, wander through rainforest and spot the native wildlife. Think monkeys, otters, parrots and caiman!

Day 4. Amazon Jungle

This morning we visit Tambopata Candamo National Reserve and Lake Sandoval, a beautiful palm-fringed expanse of water, home to the endangered giant river otter. Later we'll discover the canopy from some hanging bridges, before a night walk to spot the nocturnal wildlife. [B,L,D]

Day 5. Amazon Jungle

We cruise downriver to a small community and visit a local farm, where we'll sample some typical Amazonian food. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure to relax and soak up the jungle atmosphere. [B,L,D]

Day 6. Amazon Jungle - Cusco

Today we fly to Cusco, the former Incan capital. This afternoon we explore Koricancha, considered the most spectacular of all the Incan temples. We'll then enjoy a group dinner. [B,D]

Day 7. Cusco

This morning we visit the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, and discover the colours and local delicacies of the San Pedro Market. We also enjoy a short walking tour that includes the 17th century Cathedral of Santo Domingo, a fine example of colonial baroque architecture, and Barrio San Blas. [B]

Day 8. Cusco - Sacred Valley

We travel into the incredible Sacred Valley, stopping to meet the herds of llamas, alpacas and vicuñas in Awanacancha and to visit the impressive ruins and lively market of Pisac. [B]

Day 9. Sacred Valley

This morning we explore the archaeological ruins of Ollantaytambo. We’ll also visit the salt ponds at Maras and terraces of Moray. [B]

Special Experience: Enjoy a traditional chicha and taste some guinea pig (a regional delicacy) at a local chicheria.

Day 10. Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu

A magical day as we travel by Vistadome train through the Sacred Valley to the legendary Lost City of the Incas - Machu Picchu! [B,D]

Day 11. Machu Picchu - Cusco

Why not return to Machu Picchu for an optional second visit this morning? We'll then return to Cusco, stopping in Chinchero for a traditional weaving demonstration. [B]

Day 12. Cusco

Enjoy a day at leisure in Cusco. Full of plazas, archaeological ruins and interesting craft shops, it's a great place to explore and experience on your own. [B]

Day 13. Cusco - Lake Titicaca

We travel through the majestic High Andes Mountains to Puno, on the shores of Lake Titicaca, the world's highest navigable body of water. [B]

Day 14. Lake Titicaca

Cruise across Lake Titicaca, which is split across Peru and Bolivia. We visit the Uros Islands, made from reeds, to learn how each of the local families lives on their own island and survives the harsh climate. We'll also visit beautiful Taquile Island where we'll enjoy lunch. [B,L]

Day 15. Lake Titicaca - Colca Valley

We venture into the incredible Colca Valley, home to the world’s deepest canyon and some stunning volcanic scenery. Along the way we'll pass through tiny local villages and admire the changing landscape. [B,D]

Day 16. Colca Valley - Arequipa

On our way to Arequipa, we visit the Cross of the Condor and the mountain terraces of Antahuilque, where we'll learn about the importance of the balconies and choquetico (hanging tombs). [B,L]

Special Experience: The Cross of the Condor is the deepest point of the Colca Canyon. It is where the majestic Andean condor can be seen cruising over the morning thermals. Watching this amazing bird in flight is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Day 17. Arequipa

This morning we explore the ‘white city’ of Arequipa. Highlights include the Convent of Santa Catalina, Plaza de Armas, Church of La Compañía and Carmen Alto - a viewpoint for beautiful vistas over the surrounding landscape. Tonight we'll enjoy a group farewell dinner. [B,D]

Day 18. Depart Arequipa

Today we bid farewell to Peru and begin our journey home. [B]
