We explore Soweto, the Apartheid Museum and the former houses of Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi today. This evening we'll get to know our fellow travellers at a traditional African group welcome dinner. [B,D]
This morning we depart for Dullstroom. The afternoon is free for you to enjoy at leisure. Why not visit the 'Wild about Whisky' bar and famous clock shop? [B,D]
Today we venture into Greater Kruger National Park, offering some of the best game viewing on the African continent.
Special Experience: En route visit Hdspruit Endangered Species Centre, which focuses on the conservation of rare, vulnerable and endangered animals.
After a quick refreshment at the lodge, we'll head out on our first game drive! [B,D]
Our day is devoted to viewing the abundant wildlife found in this park, including the 'Big 5' - elephants, lions, leopards, buffals and rhinos - on morning and afternoon game drives. [B,L,D]
Heading south to Hazyview, we travel along the stunning Panorama Route, stopping at many scenic viewpoints along the way. [B,D]
Special Experience: Visit the Jane Goodall Chimpanzee Eden Sanctuary. Established in 2006, it cares for and rehabilitates chimpanzees rescued after being displaced from their natural habitat.
This afternoon we cross the border into the Kingdom of eSwatini. [B,D]
After breakfast we make our way to South Africa's coastal province of KwaZulu-Natal. This afternoon we'll visit the Emdoneni Cat Rehabilitation Centre, where injured or orphaned big cat species are rehabilitated with the intention of being released back into the wild. [B,L,D]
We travel to Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park and enjoy a morning game drive, searching for the Big 5. This afternoon we'll visit DumaZulu, a traditional Zulu village, and enjoy a cultural experience. [B,L,D]
We begin the day discovering St Lucia Estuary by boat, looking out for elephants, crocodiles and hippos. We'll then continue to Durban via the Valley of 1,000 Hills. [B,D]
This morning we explore Durban including the Golden Mile, Indian Spice Markets and the Moses Mabhida Stadium & Sky Car. [B]
We fly to Port Elizabeth and travel to Kenton-on-Sea before boarding our boat to Sibuya Game Reserve. We'll spend the next two nights enjoying this beautiful eco-lodge. [B,L,D]
Special Experience: Explore this vast reserve on morning and afternoon game drives as we go in search of a diverse variety of wildlife. Accessible solely by boat via the magnificent Kariega Estuary, Sibuya is also one of Africa's greatest bird sanctuaries. [B,L,D]
We venture towards Knysna along the 'Garden Route'. Along the way we'll stop at Tsitsikamma National Park for lunch and enjoy a tour of the Monkeyland Primate Sanctuary. [B,L]
Today we cruise across the lagoon in Featherbed Nature Reserve to Featherbed Island. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure. [B,L]
Oudtshoorn is the ostrich capital of the world, so we stop at a farm to learn about the largest bird on earth! We'll also explore the world-famous Cango Caves. [B,L]
Special Experience: An early start for a meerkat adventure! Observe these inquisitive creatures in their natural habitat as they greet the morning sun.
We travel along famous Route 62, later arriving in breathtaking Hermanus, the world's best spot for southern right whale-watching. [B]
We head out in search of the southern right whale (during whale-watching season only: June-October) or spend time exploring the coastal town. Travelling along the wine route later, we visit a brandy distillery before arriving in Stellenbosch. [B]
Special Experience: Visit Val du Charron Wine and Olive Estate in Wellington for a "Theatre of Wines" tasting experience.
Today we explore the Winelands and sample some of their finest creations, then have some free time in Franschhk. [B,L]
Today we travel to cosmopolitan Cape Town where we explore the South African Museum before visiting Table Mountain by cable car (weather permitting). [B]
A full day of sightseeing. We travel through numerous bays and lookouts before arriving at Cape Point. This afternoon we continue to Boulder's Beach and its penguin colony. [B]
We visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was infamously imprisoned (weather permitting). Tonight we'll enjoy a group farewell dinner. [B,D]
