‘Karibu’ to Kenya! This evening we’ll enjoy a group welcome dinner. [D]

Day 3. Nairobi

We visit two of Kenya’s great conservation projects - the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and the Giraffe Centre. We’ll also enjoy lunch at the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden & Museum, dedicated to the life of the Baroness and famed author of ‘Out of Africa’. [B,L]

Day 4. Nairobi - Mt Kilimanjaro - Tarangire National Park

We head to the airport today, making our way to Arusha. Here we enjoy lunch at Arusha Coffee Lounge before travelling to Tarangire. [B,L,D]

Day 5. Tarangire National Park - Ngorongoro Crater

An early start for a morning game drive in search of impalas, elands, kudus, buffals and the hundreds of birds that inhabit the area. [B,L,D]

Special Experience: Enjoy a unique taste of Tanzanian culture as we visit Mto wa Mbu, an authentic Tanzanian boma, and enjoy lunch prepared by the villagers.

Day 6. Ngorongoro Crater

The incredible UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ngorongoro Crater was created by the implosion of a volcano. We descend to the crater floor in search of the ‘Big 5’ and discover the abundance of wildlife including wildebeest, zebra, elephants and hippos, set against a remarkable backdrop of forest-covered crater walls. In the afternoon we’ll witness some spectacular views over the Ngorongoro Crater on a nature walk along its rim. [B,L,D]

Day 7. Ngorongoro Crater - Serengeti National Park

We travel to the sweeping plains of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Serengeti. Along the way we’ll stop to visit Olduvai Gorge. This afternoon we’ll encounter more of the local wildlife on a game drive. [B,L,D]

Day 8. Serengeti National Park

Our day is spent discovering the spectacular Serengeti! The landscape is characterised by vast rolling plains which we will explore on morning and afternoon game drives, looking for big cats, gazelles and zebra. [B,L,D]

Day 9. Serengeti National Park - Lake Manyara National Park

Enjoy one last morning game drive in the Serengeti before we continue to Lake Manyara. On arrival we’ll learn how to prepare an authentic Tanzanian dish during a hands-on cooking class. [B,L,D]

Special Experience: Admire the scenery, monkeys and birds from high in the beautiful forest treetops on the Manyara Treetop Walkway, one of the longest in Africa.

Day 10. Lake Manyara National Park - Amboseli National Park

This morning we walk through vast greenery and tall trees as we hike through the national park's forest.

We then cross the border back into Kenya and make our way to Amboseli National Park, set against the stunning backdrop of Mt Kilimanjaro. This area is also home to the nomadic Maasai warriors. [B,L,D]

Day 11. Amboseli National Park

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the park. The abundant wildlife, framed against Mt Kilimanjaro’s snow-covered peak, make this park a photographer’s delight. This afternoon we’ll take a game walk around the camp grounds with an experienced tracker. [B,L,D]

Day 12. Amboseli National Park - Lake Nakuru National Park

We take an early flight this morning to Nairobi, then drive toward Lake Nakuru. One of the Great Rift Valley’s soda lakes, it’s famous for its diverse birdlife and rhino population. Later this afternoon we’ll take an afternoon game drive in search of wildlife. [B,L,D]

Day 13. Lake Nakuru National Park - Lake Naivasha

Special Experience: We’ll participate in a tree-planting ceremony at our lodge.

Next we travel to Lake Naivasha, the home of the late Joy Adamson, author of “Born Free”.

After lunch, we drive to Hell's Gate National Park where we go for a walk, admiring the spectacular scenery of towering cliffs, extinct volcans and deep gorges. 

We then return to the rich heritage and idyllic scenery of Lake Naivasha, the perfect place to enjoy afternoon tea and visit the Adamson house containing memorabilia from the “Born Free” film. [B,L,D]

Day 14. Lake Naivasha - Maasai Mara

We depart early this morning for the incredible Maasai Mara. The jewel in Africa’s crown, it is home to the most spectacular array of wildlife. Here we’ll safari through the rolling grasslands in search of lions. [B,L,D]

Day 15. Maasai Mara

An early start for a morning game drive through the Mara’s amazing open savannahs. We’ll then visit a local Maasai village school and take one final game drive later this afternoon. [B,L,D]

Special Experience: This evening we’ll enjoy a special bush dinner under a beautiful blanket of stars.

Day 16. Maasai Mara - Nairobi - Australia

Today we begin our journey home. [B]
