Here we have time to relax and get to know this wonderful town. With its ancient city walls, narrow cobblestone streets and colourful shops, being in Dubrovnik is like stepping back in time.Serene Plitvice LakesFrom Dubrovnik we head to Split and the spectacular Plitvice Lakes National Park. The park comprises 16 terraced lakes and is surrounded by densely-wooded hills. Here we take some time to enjoy the park and wander around the lower lakes – the scenery is breathtaking.Be spellbound by Slovenia Continuing through Europe, we travel to Slovenia. We spend time at picturesque Lake Bled and in the charming town of Ljubljana. With its fairytale streets and colourful open-air markets, Ljubljana is a real jewel of Europe. We take a tour of the pretty capital, Ljubljana and visit the beautiful Arboretum Botanical Gardens.

Welcome to Croatia and its beautiful capital, Zagreb! Meet your fellow travellers and Tour Director this evening for a welcome drink.

Day 3. Zagreb

We take a morning sightseeing tour of the city and its impressive 900-year-old Upper Town. We see the churches of St Mark’s and St Catherine’s and visit the Cathedral, the tallest building in Croatia. The afternoon is at leisure to explore the cobblestone streets at your own pace and admire its old-world graciousness and friendly, lively energy before tonight’s group welcome dinner. [B,D]

Day 4. Zagreb - Sarajevo

Today we cross the border into Bosnia & Herzegovina and make our way to the historic capital, Sarajevo. A vibrant city full of history and Turkish heritage, it is often called the ‘Jerusalem of Europe’. [B]

Day 5. Sarajevo

We’ll explore Sarajevo on a sightseeing tour this morning. Highlights include the buzzing Turkish bazaar, ‘Bas Carsija’, the Husref Bay’s Mosque and the Gavrilo Princip Museum. [B]

Special Experience: Discover the culinary delights of Sarajevo on a gourmet walking tour. Enjoy a degustation of Bosnian cheeses and smoked meats, as well as other traditional foods. Relax in a typical tavern and try two types of homemade rakija.

Day 6. Sarajevo - Mostar - Dubrovnik

We venture south to Mostar, where its famous Ottoman bridge, bustling gold alley and numerous millhouse restaurants lining the banks of the river set an enchanting scene. Later this afternoon we continue to beautiful Dubrovnik, set against a backdrop of the shimmering Adriatic Sea. [B]

Day 7. Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik is one of the most photographed towns on the Mediterranean. This morning we enjoy a walking tour of this historic walled city. Sights will include the Bell Tower Clock, Orlando’s Column, Rector’s Palace and the Franciscan Monastery. The afternoon is free for you to explore at your own pace. [B,D]

Special Experience: Enjoy the warm hospitality of the locals and taste the regional cuisine at a special home-hosted dinner.

Day 8. Kotor Excursion

We spend the day touring the tiny country of Montenegro. Admire the beauty of the Dalmatian coast as we drive along the rugged Bay of Kotor, dotted with charming little villages. [B]

Day 9. Dubrovnik - Hvar

Today we head north along the spectacular coast to Hvar Island. We take in the views from the panoramic road on the island as we journey to Hvar town. Our evening is at leisure. [B]

Day 10. Hvar -Split

See the highlights of this beautiful island on a walking tour this morning, where we enjoy spectacular views from the Hvar Fortress, a medieval castle dating back to before 500BC. We then have a delicious lunch in Vrisnik before catching a ferry to Split, Croatia's second-largest city. [B,L]

Day 11. Split

We tour the historic city centre of Split today, which is built around the remains of the world's most impressive Roman monument - the Diocletian's Palace. [B]

Day 12. Split - Trogir - Plitvice Lakes

Today we stop in the town of Trogir, where artists from around the world gather to paint. This afternoon we travel to the stunning Plitvice Lakes National Park. These 16 terraced lakes are renowned for their distinctive colours, ranging from azure greens to steely greys and blues. [B,D]

Special Experience: Stay right inside the national park, and only 400 metres from the highest waterfall.

Day 13. Plitvice Lakes

This morning we explore the spectacular lower lake section on a guided walking tour that will showcase its magnificent turquoise lakes, waterfalls and cascades. [B]

Optional Walking Discovery: Why not take an extended walk of this area to appreciate its natural beauty? Or, spend the afternoon at leisure to relax and enjoy the tranquility.

Day 14. Plitvice Lakes - Opatija

We travel to the imperial resort town of Opatija. Famous for its grand spa hotels and superb location on the beautiful bay of Kvarner, it is often referred to as the 'Pearl of the Adriatic'. [B]

Day 15. Istrian Peninsula Excursion

Enjoy a full-day excursion along the beautiful, heart-shaped Istrian Peninsula. Visit Euphrasius Basilica at Poreč, the Roman Amphitheatre in Pula and the charming fishing port of Rovinj. [B]

Day 16. Opatija - Postonjna - Bled 

Today we visit the incredible Postojna Caves, with more than 20 kilometres of passages, galleries and chambers. We ride an electric train through the caves discovering two-million-year-old stalagmite and stalactite formations. This afternoon we continue north to fairytale Lake Bled in the Julian Alps. [B]

Day 17. Bled

The region around Bled is one of the most beautiful in Europe. Set amongst stunning mountain peaks and brimming with forests and greenery, waterfalls and streams, it is characterised by the iconic church steeple that perches atop a tiny island in the middle of the lake. Here we enjoy a wonderful sightseeing tour including a visit to Bled Castle before we visit the lake valley of Bohinj. [B]

Special Experience: Visit the Alpine Dairy Farming Museum, learning about the life of herdsmen in an authentic environment and tasting the locally produced cheeses.

Day 18. Bled

Optional Walking Discovery: Explore the lush greenery and tranquil waters of Vintgar Gorge this morning. Don’t forget your camera, the scenery will take your breath away!

Special Experience: Visit the traditional Gingerbread Museum to learn the history of this honey-bread and make your very own gingerbread heart, a symbol of love and passion.

We continue to be immersed in history as we enjoy traditional Slovenian fare for dinner at the museum’s adjoining restaurant. [B,D]

Day 19. Bled - Ljubljana - Zagreb

This morning we depart for the picturesque Slovenian capital, Ljubljana, where we take a sightseeing tour before visiting Novo Mesto, a town on the bend of the Krka River. [B,L,D]

Special Experience: Take a relaxing cruise aboard Rudolph’s raft as we meander past the adorable houses and buildings on the riverbanks, all while enjoying a delicious lunch and onboard entertainment.

Tonight we’ll enjoy a group farewell dinner. [B,L,D]
