Bike, Hike and Kayak Southern Thailand

Phang Nga Bay is one of Thailand's most spectacular picture-postcard locations and the best way to explore this beautiful turquoise bay with towering limestone cliffs, stunning caves and white sand beaches is by kayak. From our overnight beach campsite we are able to enjoy this paradise without the tourist crowds whilst working up an appetite for the delicious Thai cuisine.

Day 1
Upon arrival at Phuket airport, you will be met and transferred to the hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Overnight: Phuket
Day 2
You will be picked up at the hotel in Phuket and transferred to the pier for a long tail boat ride to Koh Yao Noi. On this tranquil island with only a handful of cars, it is a full day cycling through plantations, farm land, communities and by the beach approx: 30kms. In the late afternoon we have a long tail boat transfer back to Phuket for dinner and overnight. Overnight: Phuket
Day 3
After breakfast at the hotel in Phuket, we check out and transfer (approx 3.5hrs) north to Khao Sok National Park. Following a short safety briefing and unloading our gear, start off with a 2 hour caning session before taking lunch at a local restaurant. The afternoon is spent exploring the jungle by foot hiking the lush nature and visiting a waterfall. Dinner at the resort. Overnight: Khao Sok (hike approx: 8kms) Distance and journey time: Trasnfer: 3.5 hr from Phuket to Khao Sok
Day 4
Following breakfast, transfer a short distance along the lake and take a long tail boat on Chiew Larn Lake, pass the limestone rocks and try spot the monkeys living in the tree tops sticking out from the jungle. We stop by a floating house for a session of swimming and/or experience the amazing nature in evergreen Khao Sok by kayak. After lunch on the floating house, we begin the afternoon hike, ending with a visit to a cave. The evening/night is spent wildlife spotting, if we're lucky we might see gaur, wild elephant and other large mammals. Overnight: Khao Sok (floating house) (hike approx: 10kms)
Day 5
Check out from the floating house and take a long tail boat back to the mainland for a morning wildlife spotting drive. Local lunch at the resort followed by an afternoon free at leisure. Relax, take in the atmosphere or why not hike around the area at the resort. Dinner at the resort. Overnight: Khao Sok
Day 6
After breakfast we check out of our hotel and transfer 3.5hrs from Khao Sok to Ao Por Pier in Phuket. The dream like Pha Nga Bay offer some of the most scenic and stunning views in the whole of Asia. From here we transfer for about an hour from the hotel to the pier where the boat awaits to take us further out in the bay. On the boat the experienced lead guides carefully prepares us and explains the adventure we are about to take on. For all kayaking out on the open sea we use sit-on-tops kayaks, and for visit into caves we use inflatable sotars. After a short paddle to get accustomed to the gear we take lunch. The afternoon is spent kayaking on the sea and caving the sites around Koh Panak (Koh means island in Thai). We camp in Koh Panak and have dinner either on the boat or on the beach. Overnight: On the beach in tents. Distance and journey time: Transfer: 3.5 hrs. from Khao Sok National Park to Ao Por Pier Kayaking:Up to 4 hrs. Difficulty: Easy
Day 7
During the morning after breakfast we continue with a full day of kayaking the bay. Starting at Koh Hong making our way eastwards passing by Koh Kai, Koh Batang and Leam Tang. Around noon we have lunch on board the boat or on an island. Continuing our open sea paddling, the afternoon session takes place at Koh Bele, where we also set camp for the night. Koh Bele boats an amazing environment, white beaches framed by giant limestone cliffs. Want to see what the hides in the water? Dive in and snorkel close to one of the coral reefs and chances are you'll find an abundance of exotic fish in the blue water, which is comfortably warm year around. Dinner on the beach to the sound of the ocean. Overnight: On the beach in twin share tents.
Day 8
Breakfast on the beach and we are ready for the last day of kayaking. After packing up our belongings on the beach and getting a short brief on the paddle route we start today at Koh Hong (Room Island), given its name because of its giant limestone mountains seemingly rocket right out of the sea. We paddle our way around, circumnavigating the island and reach Koh Pak Bia, when the tide is low it appears as one island but when the tide rises it becomes two islands! Our open kayaks make it easy to pass through narrow pathways. As we reach this point we are just 30 minutes by boat from the mainland to the east, but this is as far east as we go. We head west back to Koh Naka Yai and our resort. Check in, take a shower and get ready for our farewell dinner. Overnight: Koh Yao Yai Distance and journey time: Kayaking: Up to 5 hrs. Difficulty: Easy Transfer: 20 minutes from Klong Hia Pier to Koh Yao Yai Village
Day 9
Today we enjoy a long tail boat to the mainland for a private transfer to Phuket International Airport or your Phuket Hotel, where the trip concludes. Distance and journey time: Transfer: 20 minutes Koh Yao Yai Village to Klong Hia Pier 40 minutes from Klong Hia Pier to Bang Rong Pier 20 minutes from Bang Rong Pier to Phuket Airport
