Day 2. Lima - Guayaquil

This morning we discover the sights of Lima on a city tour and visit the famous Larco Museum, containing priceless Incan artefacts. Later this afternoon we'll fly to Guayaquil, gateway to the Galapagos Islands, and enjoy a welcome dinner. [B,D]

Day 3. Guayaquil - Galapagos Islands

Special Experience: We fly to the amazing Galapagos Islands, one of the world's best destinations for wildlife viewing. We'll enjoy lunch at a heritage property amongst the giant tortoises once we arrive. [B,L]

Day 4. Galapagos Islands

Today we'll visit one of the uninhabited islands to witness more amazing wildlife. Keep an eye out for penguins, dolphins and plenty of exotic fish. [B,L]

Day 5. Galapagos Islands

We visit beautiful Tortuga Bay on a walking tour, with time to snorkel and enjoy the underwater kaleidoscope. This afternoon we board a speedboat bound for the island of San Crist bal, home to many natural wonders. [B]

Day 6. Galapagos Islands

We'll board a yacht for either Isla Lobos or Kicker Rock, according to the National Park schedule. Both offer amazing snorkelling opportunities. Later this afternoon, we'll visit the islands' Interpretation Centre which provides a wealth of information and exhibits about the Galapagos. [B,L]

Day 7. Galapagos Islands - Lima

Today we fly to Lima via Guayaquil. [B]

Day 8. Lima - Cusco

This morning we fly to Cusco, the former Incan capital. After lunch we'll explore Koricancha (Temple of the Sun), considered the most spectacular temple of the Incan empire. [B,L]

Day 9. Cusco

Our day begins at the fascinating fortress of Sacsayhuaman, before visiting the colourful San Pedro Market. Later we'll explore Cusco's San Blas neighbourhood on foot and tour the 17th century Cathedral of Santo Domingo. [B]

Day 10. Cusco - Sacred Valley

We travel into the incredible Sacred Valley, stopping to visit the impressive ruins and lively market of Pisac. We'll also visit the town and ruins of Ollantaytambo, an impressive Incan fortress. [B]

Day 11. Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu

Special Experience: A magical day as we travel by Vistadome train through the Sacred Valley to the legendary Lost City of the Incas - Machu Picchu. [B,D]

Day 12. Machu Picchu - Cusco

Why not return to Machu Picchu for an optional second visit this morning? We'll return to Ollantaytambo this afternoon and stop in Chinchero for a traditional weaving demonstration on our way to Cusco. [B]

Day 13. Cusco - Lima

The morning is at leisure before our flight to Lima. [B]

Day 14. Lima - Santiago

Today we fly to Santiago. [B]

Day 15. Santiago

This morning we explore historic and modern Santiago, stopping at a lookout to take in amazing views of the city. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure. [B]

Days 16-29. Cruising with Holland America Line

We travel from Santiago to the Casablanca Valley, famous as one of Chile's best wine regions. Here we'll visit a winery to learn about the area's unique processing techniques and enjoy a tasting. We'll then make our way to the port of San Antonio to board the Holland America ms Zaandam cruise ship. [B,D]

We fly to thundering Iguazu Falls. Straddling the border of Argentina and Brazil, Iguazu Falls is one of the world's largest and most spectacular waterfalls. Standing on a platform over the Devil's Throat, we'll sense its incredible power. [B]

Day 32. Iguazu Falls

This morning we visit the Brazilian side of the falls, walking the canyon path. Then get up close and personal with more than 160 species of tropical birds at the Parque Das Aves. [B]

Day 33. Iguazu Falls - Rio de Janeiro

This afternoon we fly to vibrant Rio. [B]

Day 34. Rio de Janeiro

Today we visit the icons of Rio, including Corcovado Hill, the Statue of Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain. We'll enjoy a traditional churrasco grill for our farewell dinner tonight at Fogo de Chao. [B,D]
