Upon arrival in Bali, you will be transferred to your hotel in Ubud. Ubud is Bali’s artistic heart and the center of cultural events. Surrounded by a beautiful landscape it is easy to see where the artists find inspiration. This is a great place for buying special mementos in many small shops and galleries. For those wishing to know more about Balinese art a visit to one of the local museums will be of great benefit. Cultural events such as ceremonies, dances and temple festivals occur frequently and you are always very welcome to observe. Ubud has many good restaurants where you can savor a range from simple Balinese food to sophisticated European dishes. Driving duration to Ubud: ~2 hours (~40km) Overnight: Nick’s Pension or similar

Widya Guna is a place for Balinese children from various unfortunate situations, which supports the children in receiving their education when they cannot afford to pay the school costs. Yayasan provides them with food and shelter when they don’t have a family or a home; it assists underprivileged children that need support, such as children with physical and/or mental disabilities and street children - as all children deserve a good education. Today you will be picked up in the morning around 6:00am. Your driver will take you to an amazing lookout point so you can witness one of the most beautiful views of Batur while enjoying breakfast. Once we have finished breakfast around 8:00am we begin our trek of Mt Batur. The walk starts of quite flat, walking through plantations such as tomato and onion. Next we start our ascent to the Point through volcanic sand and rock. Once we reach the point you can sit back and relax with a well-earned coffee break with a view of the Batur Lake, the enormous crater and weather depending a view of Lombok in the distance. At your own leisure its time to explore the fumaroles and caves and keep an eye out for the local Monkeys that live inside the largest crater, or if you want you can make it all the way to the summit which will take another 40 minutes uphill through volcanic sand. Our descent can take a bit longer as it is downhill and a little tricky in some places. We will arrive back at the lookout point at around midday where you can enjoy a delicious lunch before returning to your hotel. Trekking duration: ~6 hours Overnight: Nick’s Pension or similar
Day 5
Today you will be transferred to Padang Bai and take the fast boat to Lombok. Upon arrival in Lombok, you will be transferred to Sembalun. Sembalun is one of the two key gateway villages to Mount Rinjani. However, there is a lot more to this area as it boasts an abundance of natural beauty, towering mountains rising either side of patchwork rice paddy valleys. Overnight: Nusantara Hotel or similar
Day 6
Today we embark on a delightful light hike known locally as the wild flower walk. This remarkable hike leads us through the grasslands and tropical forests which surround the Sembalun crater. We camp in a hidden valley, on the sides of the Rinjani Volcano. (Please note that this is not trekking to the Rinjani crater rim itself.) The trek begins in Sembalun Lawang (1,200 m). Climb to the undulating caldera rim from where there are sweeping views of Sembalun Lawang and Sembalun Bumbung villages. It is common to see wild pigs along this route. The area also boasts wild flora, orchids, and other tropical flowers which grow in abundance alongside the paths. We camp at an altitude of 1,600m above sea-level, in a beautiful valley, offering great views of the tropical forest. Overnight: Tented camp
Day 7
Today we walk back to Sembalun, along different trails from our walk the day before. Upon arrival back in Sembalun, a private car will be waiting for us to drive us to Pringgasela, a small village renowned for its traditional ancient weaving. During a walk through the village, you will see how they weave the songkets, a brocade fabric, hand-woven in silk or cotton and intricately patterned with gold or silver threads. For lunch today, a delicious traditional Sasak meal will be prepared for you to enjoy. After lunch, you will visit Masbagik where they still make pottery in a traditional way and Loyok, the bamboo village. Afterward, you will be transferred to your hotel in Tetebatu. Overnight: Green Orry Hotel or similar
Day 8
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to the starting point of the Rinjani Volcano trek via Aik Berik. While enjoying a morning coffee or tea, your trekking guide will brief you on today's track and the safety procedures. Then off you go to Mount Rinjani National Park for a short hike from Aim Berik to Benang Setokel waterfall. From here, a 1.5hr climb leads us up to base camp one (800m) where we'll stop for a short break before pushing on to base camp two (1,400m). We'll rest up at base camp two and have lunch before continuing our climb up to base camp three (1,850m). The terrain up until camp thee is covered in forest, however this starts to slowly thin out into tough grasses before all vegetation gives way to the volcanic rock and ashes. The final two hours of trekking from camp three will bring us up to Pelawanh Batu Belah, the crater rim with amazing views over the crater lake of Segara Anak. This amazing place is our final destination for today and will be where we camp. The cook will prepare a well deserved dinner and you can relax and enjoy the spectacular location. Trekking: ~8hrs Overnight: Tented camp
Day 9
Today begins with an early morning wake up so you don't miss the breathtaking sunrise from the summit. We'll then enjoy breakfast, pack down our camp then start the hike back down. We'll follow the same trails down as we ascended the day prior, stopping to rest at the camps. Upon reaching the bottom of the volcano, we head to the hotel for a long awaited refreshment and some comfort. This concludes our trekking and we will have a transfer to Teluk Kodek harbour, where you will board by local boat to Gili Air (30-45mins). Trekking duration: ~7hrs Overnight: Villa Karang Hotel and Spa or similar
